IC.Shape is a set of instruments designed to increase productivity and ease the modeling process, with particular focus on organic shapes. The whole toolset is driven by the 3ds Max standard painting system, that behaves in different but related ways for each tool. It gives its best paired with a pressure sensitive device, since many instruments react to natural strokes. The learning path is quite easy, thanks to a well designed interface and shortcuts painless to remember and handle during the modeling process. It allows to work well in 3ds Max Expert Mode, maximizing the active viewport space. Many tools recognize the actual status and perform different actions based on the artist's intent, without the needing of complex combinations of keys to press. No more than one key is to be hold at the same time to activate a different function and each modifier key gets similar results in comparable tools, like draw and erase, or the mesh shaping tools. This leaves the artist more time for the creative process and require less effort to achieve desired results.
New Feature: Z-Projection
Z-Projection allows to use a scene Geometry Object as template for shaping the actual Editable Polygon. Every transformed sub-object element is instantly projected along the viewport Z-Axis on the active template geometry and remains stuck to it. Brushes that support this feature, like Drag Brush, project all their transformations on the template surface positive side, while all the others, like Inflate Brush, behave in the standard mode.
A positive offset from the tempate geometry object can be set to prevent the loss of volume while rebuilding a low-poly surface from a high-poly template.
